Senior Scientist - Assay Development for lateral flow devices

Role profile:

• Working with an experienced team of development scientists to design, develop and optimise lateral flow based assays including the components such as protein conjugates and substrates

• Develop and test methods for protein purification and stabilisation

• QC'ing the development processes, verification and validation testing, troubleshooting assays according to feedback from customers and more junior members of the team

• Working to stringent ISO 13485 protocols, maintaining an accurate and efficient QMS

• Working with and building relationships with third party suppliers of reagents

• Writing and storing of SOPs, ensuring the team follows them and be on hand for training and guidance to less experienced team members

• Take responsibility for customer projects to pilot new assays, proof-of-principle experimentation and also customer demonstrates as required

• Represent the business at events and in customer meetings

Your background:

• Educated to PhD in a relevant discipline with at last 2 years industry experience in a medical device/IVD setting, where you have been developing lateral flow immunoassays

• Sound appreciation of ISO 13485 and relevant quality systems

• Product development experience of clinical immunoassays

• Team-centric, independent and curious in your approach to finding elegant solutions to complex issues in the field of diagnostic assay development Does this represent the next step for you in your assay development career?
