Role requirements:
* Manufacturing assay strips for use in a novel IVD (in-vitro-diagnostic) point of care device
* You will be required to optimise and adapt both manual and automated processes, in addition to the development of new processes
* You will work with a range of divisions within the business, including scientists, engineers and quality associates
* You will be working with a range of laboratory equipment, including: laser cutters, dispensers, rotary sealer, manual assembly jig and guillotine. You will ensure equipment is in good working order, flag any calibration issues and arrange for engineer visits if needed
* Working to stringent SOPs within a GDP and GMP environment
* Input of all data into batch record, as per each manufacturing process
* Inspection and QC of finished product before packing
* Management of materials within the pilot line, trouble shoot any issues and/or report to QC Manager as required
* Working to Lean Manufacturing/5S techniques at all times
* Support with audits and complete relevant paperwork. Support review and production of SOPs for the manufacturing pilot plant, and record all non-conformances/deviations in a timely and accurate manner
Person specification:
* Proven background in the set up and running of automated and manual manufacturing/test equipment
* Background of working with IVD's or other medical devices would be beneficial
* GMP or highly regulated manufacturing background
* Detail orientated, highly accurate and methodical by nature
* Exemplary communication skills
* Able to work under minimal supervision with good integrity and excellent planning skills
* Solutions-focused and able to assimilate new information and protocols quickly and with ease
