Role requirements:

Working within a busy project team, your main scope in this role is the management of the lab equipment, processing of clinical samples, testing of prototypes and supporting the scientists with their experimentation and processing of result data.

  • Verify, calibrate and maintain in good working order, the laboratory equipment

  • Run samples through the prototype instrumentation

  • Manage the laboratory setting: ensuring a clean, tidy and efficient workspace, removal of clinical waste, maintain levels of consumables, reagents, cleaning materials and liaise as required with suppliers of such

  • Handling (processing, testing and storage) of clinical samples received from external sources, carry out the testing of the platform technology using these samples

  • Preparation of buffers and reagents

  • Complete accurate and timely write-ups, reports and maintain accurate batch records

  • Document efficiently the newly developed processes and protocols and communication any experimental observations to the assay development team

  • Stringent adherence to all regulatory and customer requirements, documentation of such, and report of breaches to senior team, including investigation of non-conformances

Your background:

  • Background working in highly regulated laboratories

  • Experience handling and processing clinical samples

  • Good command of lab etiquette, able to work with minimal supervision and with good computer literacy

  • Proactive, always seeks out opportunities for personal and professional improvement and demonstrates an innovative nature

  • Driving licence and own transport
