Production Scientist - Molecular Diagnostics

Role profile:

Supporting the launch and establishment of a manufacturing and production lab for generation of novel molecular diagnostic devices. You will be joining an experienced team of bioproduction scientists, with the aim of instating efficient and quality manufacturing capacities.

Role requirements:

* Prepare and screen biochemical reagents for use in the manufacturing and process development of the devices

* Report on the outcome of lab experiments - update and manage the LIMS, suggest methods for improvement of the process and monitor outcomes

* Assist with the installation, validation and maintenance of lab manufacturing equipment

* Working to ISO 13485 and ensuring the proper management of documents relating to quality protocols, deviations and non-conformances. Participate in preparing for internal and external audits of the manufacturing lab as required

* Work with SOPs, taking a continuous improvement overview of lab procedures, seek out opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the smooth and effective running of the department

Person specification:

* Degree in a relevant scientific subject (or equivalent) such as molecular biology or biomedical science for example

* Proven experience of working to GLP and/or GMP standards within an ISO 13485 environment

* A background of working in a manufacturing or production environment would be an advantage

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, to deadlines

* Good verbal and written skills, able to document findings concisely, and work in a busy and growing team of experienced scientists
