Technical Sales Manager - Microbiology

Life Science laboratory equipment

Scope of the role:

To generate, explore and evolve relationships with UK and Ireland clients, in relation to the sale of specialist laboratory equipment for microbiological experimentation.

Role requirements:

  • Development and execution of a sales strategy to target specific potential clients, and maintain successful relations with existing clients

  • Use of strong technical knowledge to demonstrate benefits through a solutions-focused approach, which meet the needs of your client and eclipse your competition

  • Roll-out of a structure sales process with in-built reviews and opportunities for cross-selling

  • Close management of your sales pipeline to ensure clients at all stages of the sales lifecycle

  • Work closely with the equipment developers, marketing and support divisions to bring the brand together an ensure targeted sales

  • Travel to client sites (UK and Ireland) on a weekly basis to discuss needs, commercials and organise demonstrations

Person specification:

  • BSc in a Life Science or equivalent

  • Strong, demonstrable experience in sales of laboratory capital equipment

  • Background within microbiology setting is helpful

  • Strong track-record of moving clients along the sales pipeline from prospect to repeat customer

  • Familiar with strategic sales processes

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to flex your approach; intuitive and disciplined

  • Comfortable with UK-wide travel up to 3-4 times a week (in normal times) plus some international travel. At present, the vast majority of this role will be home based and meetings will happen remotely
