Reporting to the Microbiology Manager, you will take a key laboratory based role within the product development and product quality division. The Microbiologist / QC Microbiology will be involved in product testing, stability testing, quality control, environmental monitoring, cleaning validation and other activities to support the sterile development and production of sterile and sterile pharmaceutical products. Testing will cover raw materials, in process samples and finished products.

This is an excellent opportunity for a microbiologist to work in a diverse and interesting role, working in a number of areas within the business. You will be given the opportunity to have input into the smooth running of the laboratory, ensuring laboratory documentation is completed accurately and in a timely fashion and ensuring the analysis is completed within specified time frames supporting product formulation and development. The Microbiologist / QC Microbiology will also need to be confident to train junior staff in processes and procedures as required.

To be considered for this Microbiologist / QC Microbiology position, you will need a good understanding of Microbiology product QC testing and environmental monitoring. You must also have knowledge of techniques such as LAL testing, endotoxin testing, sterility testing, plate counts and other basic micro techniques. Experience of working with microbiological assays / test kits for microbial detection / identification would be an advantage.

Excellent communication, team-working and organisation skills are essential.
