The Ware Global Supply Chain (GSC) site is the largest GSK site in the UK with a thriving early talent community, lots of social activities, and a warm and welcoming support network. The Ware Global Supply Chain (GSC) site has modern facilities, uses advanced technologies, and provides amazing development opportunities for future careers.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in a range of knowledge-building experiences and gain understanding of the site's engagement and culture priorities. Working closely with your manager, you'll develop an awareness of the day-to-day challenges and deliverables of a pharma manufacturing facility.

The site manufactures and supplies oral solid dose tablets (for HIV and oncology) and respiratory devices (for asthma and COPD) to over 140 countries across the world, as well as to patients participating in clinical trials, making a real difference to people's lives. With a focus on new product introduction, it is a key site within the GSK network and an exciting place to work. Situated alongside the river in the heart of Ware in Hertfordshire, the site has access to beautiful countryside for wonderful walks as well as great sports and social facilities, and excellent transport links, being only 40 minutes away from London and Cambridge by train.

Available roles (exact details of each role will be confirmed when making offers. You will need to state your role preferences during your application.)

  • Manufacturing and Science Technology (MSAT) - Supporting the monitoring and improvement of production performance, developing knowledge of current and new product introduction.
  • Laboratories - Providing support in quality control labs, observing lab processes, techniques, and safety, and implementing sustainable improvements.
  • Quality - Understanding how products are checked and produced, the Quality Systems in place, and the wider Quality roles across labs, testing, operations, and performance.
  • Learning & Development - Supporting with data collation and engagement of employees to support and communicate training and development across the site.
  • Logistics - Supporting the supply chain which enables products to be transported across the world, completing reviews and collating and reporting on performance metrics.
  • Sustainability - Supporting biodiversity projects, creating site-wide communications, and helping to implement environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Engineering - Understanding production lines and providing improvement support, helping to develop systems and databases in line with production schedules, gaining knowledge of the various engineering roles on site.
  • Production - Working in the manufacturing areas where products are made, supporting problem solving and continuous improvement projects, and gaining understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Digital, Data, and Analytics (DDA) - Creating and sharing DDA communications, supporting projects, problem solving, and continuous improvement through the analysis of data.

The roles will include:

  • Online and in-person training to enable you to complete your role safely and effectively
  • Developing knowledge of your work area and the wider business
  • Support and guidance from your allocated manager and buddy
  • Conversations with a mentor to support your future career plan and help you to make the most of your placement with GSK
  • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, across the team and site
  • Helping to implement improvements within your team
  • Assisting your team to deliver on their work priorities / key tasks
  • Sharing details of your placement and key learning's at a carousel event at the end of the 6-week period

  • A passion for learning and gaining new experiences
  • An ability to develop rapport and build relationships with people at all levels
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • To demonstrate qualities aligned with our GSK Culture
  • An interest in business operations and the pharmaceutical industry
