What is analytical chemistry?
This field covers the implementation of analytical instruments and processes used to separate, identify, and quantify chemical matter. Those skilled in analytical chemistry deduce chemical structures as well as their behaviour in differing conditions. It covers a variety of purposes including drug development, forensic analysis and toxicology. Research and development (R&D) of formulation and processes is key to continually improve end products. It has become an important function to help a company gather the needed information to move a product from development into the commercialisation phase.
What are the key trends in analytical chemistry?
Many sources are talking about blockchain technology and how this can help with areas within analytical chemistry. There are still considerations that need to be ironed out but most agree that this technology can help improve security and innovation. As blockchain data is not owned by any one individual, each person involved in the transaction has the opportunity to keep track of the data which limits the risks of inaccurate reporting and helps the individuals involved remain honest in their transactions. Information can be shared in an open or closed community (a dedicated community of experts) by safely sharing information with all stakeholders in real-time, following the rules set by the community without the need for validation or authorisation by third parties. As everyone is working on the same data, the time to market is reduced and innovation is facilitated.
Where we work
We have a very strong foundation in recruitment across the scientific, chemical, medical device, food and drink and biotech industries. We work with the very best, giving us a wide range of analytical chemistry jobs across drug formulation and development, chemical and forensic analysis, process development, validation and toxicology. The types of roles we typically cover are within Analytical Chemistry, Cell Biology and Fermentation, Quality and Quality Assurance, Molecular Biology, Production, Sales and Commercial Team and Biochemistry. Our Clients are also looking for HPLC Analysts, Analytical Development Chemists as well as Analytical Assistants or Technicians.
The way we work
We work in a consultative way with both our clients and candidates. When you are looking for a new permanent job or new contract role within the scientific sector, SRG, as market leaders, are the best-placed recruitment consultancy to help you find the right place for your next move.
As a specialised team, our scientific and clinical teams fully understand the roles that they each deal with. We really get to know the people we work with, whether clients (their culture, their environment, their team) or candidates (motivations, career aspirations, the environment you want to work in). We never try to send people to companies that don’t suit them, and when working with our client companies, nor do we bombard them with CVs to fill our own internal quota numbers.
Take a look at our roles to see where your next opportunity could be. Our consultants are talking to clients all the time and can make approaches on your behalf, so please get in touch to see how we can help you.
Alternatively, if you are looking for talent to enhance or grow your team, call us to talk about who we are currently working with and how we can help: 0161 868 2200.
